In case you haven’t been able to get out to one of the fifteen separate exhibitions we did during the summer (people do get busy), now you can see the ‘A’ frame portion of S50 on the BLOG. You’ll also get some insight into the thinking behind each piece in the exhibition. During the next few weeks, you will be able to see a new ‘A’ frame added onto the BLOG every few days. For now, here’s a start… Stay tuned!
3- “Who’s Next?” - Most people will see this as they leave (as it’s the back side of the cover), but some will see it as they first come in. The idea is that the public understands that this project is on-going, that what they’re seeing is just the beginning, as small part of the project, S10, the first 10 participants in S50. Beyond that, we want them to participate: S50 is a community project and each person here can nominate other community members. Beyond giving us people to consider, it also gets people thinking about the topic and surely starts many conversations about the arts, music, and culture here in Spokane. The blank faces allow the viewer to picture potential nominees and even goes so far as to say “your neighbor?”, “your boss?”, “your mom?”, “your colleague”, etc. to help people to get the ball rolling.
